• Assist with preparing and analyzing the Company's financial statements which are prepared and presented on both a GAAP and Statutory basis.• Maintain GAAP and other external financial reporting and management information, including premium tax accruals, surcharges, taxes & equity roll forwards on a monthly basis to provide management with accurate and meaningful financial information. • Complete and control state specific financial information requests for assigned states.• Assemble and distribute STAT financial statements to NAIC/AM Best/ISO/Treasury/ States etc. and provide the states, NAIC, AM Best with complete and accurate financial information as requested to adhere with proper accounting practices. Research new reporting requirements as necessary for NAIC/States.• Design and produce internal monthly management reports including the measurement of actual results against plan.• Analyze complex accounting issues. Research and analyze accounting statements, standards and guidelines and present conclusions to upper level management.• Assist in developing practical solutions to control the integrity, accuracy and reliability of financial information.• Assist business units in implementing sound accounting and control procedures.• Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and followed so as to strengthen the integrity of financial information and improve the safeguarding of the Company's assets.• Assist in establishing and communicating the Company's accounting and reporting policies and procedures including determination of the impact of new accounting developments on the Company.
